GoPro has created a mount for animals called the Fetch!
What is it?
It’s a collar- and water-friendly harness to hold the GoPro camera, which includes two locations for mounting it. There’s a chest mount so a view of dirt-digging, toy-teasing and bone-biting can be filmed, and an over-the-shoulder mount so you can get an idea of what your dog is seeing from the ground.
The Fetch costs $59.99 and has an adjustable fit, so dogs of all sizes can wear it (between 15 and 120 pounds). It’s completely waterproof in case your dog wants to go for a swim and is also washable in case they get it muddy.

What’s the point?
The GoPro website claims that you can “capture the world from your dog’s point of view”, but in all honesty, I question the point of this particular gadget. It really is a gimmick which is stupidly overpriced – but it’s obviously something which is going to sell. With the high cost of the GoPro itself anyway, one could argue that the people who buy it have too much money in the first place, let alone without buying these costly add-ons.
If you’re with your dog pretty much all the time, the recordings on the Fetch aren’t going to be that exciting. I suppose though, if you do occasionally leave your dog alone in the house (which I hope is not too often!) it might be interesting to look up their antics, particularly if you can’t work out where that sock has gone… Personally I reckon a GoPro for cats, the Feline*, would be a better purchase as you don’t actually see where they venture most of the time. But with kit that expensive, I doubt you’d trust a sneaky cat with it!
